Get a Library card

To request a card online, simply follow this link and complete the form in full and click submit. Then, to complete your registration, simply stop by the library in the next seven days during our regular hours with your photo ID to receive your card with full in-person and online borrowing privileges.

All Greene County residents or property owners over the age of 5 are eligible to receive a free library card.

Once you receive your physical card, the number will allow you to access the Library’s digital resources, including eBooks and audio books (accessible online through TN Reads and on mobile devices through Overdrive or the Libby app). If you already have a card and want to check out what's available online, check out the information on accessing the digital library resources on our FAQ page.

You can also apply in-person. Let the staff know if you’re applying for a new card or if you already have filled out the online request, and they’ll happily help you get started using the library’s services. New patrons may check out three items on the day the card is issued and on subsequent visits are granted full library privileges (Learn more about our circulation rules and policies here).

There is a $3 fee to replace lost cards.
